The ACADE-ME video library has officially launched on TikTok, with the first five videos featuring testimonies from young Roma people sharing their educational journeys and aspirations for the future.
The initiative is part of the activities of ACADE-ME, a European project that aims to actively engage Roma communities and promote positive change through training programmes, awareness-raising activities, and the creation of educational and informational resources.
The project is funded by the European programme CERV – Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values, which supports initiatives that strengthen rights, inclusion, and democratic participation across Europe.
The video library, published on the official ACADE-ME TikTok page, collects short testimonies from young Roma people who share their educational experiences, offering concrete and positive examples for younger generations. The first five videos are already available online and represent the beginning of a broader collection designed to give visibility to stories of commitment, education, and determination.
Over the course of the project, the ACADE-ME video library will gradually expand to include 60 short videos, created with the participation of at least 60 young Roma from all partner countries: Italy, Greece, Serbia, Hungary, Slovenia, and Bulgaria.
The protagonists of the initiative will be Roma university students – already enrolled or about to begin their academic journey – who will share their experiences, the challenges they have faced, and their aspirations for the future.
Through their stories, they will become positive examples and role models, showing how education can be a powerful tool for personal growth, empowerment, and access to new opportunities.
The goal is to highlight real stories of commitment, determination, and success in education, showcasing young people who have chosen to invest in their learning and in their future. Their testimonies will provide authentic and positive narratives and help challenge the stereotypes and prejudices that still affect Roma communities today.
The project also aims to encourage other Roma girls and boys to believe in the value of education, showing that access to higher education is possible and can become an important tool for empowerment, social participation, and building one’s own life path.
The video library will therefore serve as a digital space for sharing and inspiration, where the experiences of young Roma become drivers of change and resources to strengthen confidence in the opportunities offered by education.
