A new two-minute video has been released within the framework of the European project ACADE-ME, focusing on education as a key to inclusion, empowerment, and social change.
Available on TikTok, the video features Roma women from different countries across the European partnership, who share their personal experiences and reflections β telling how access to education has been a path to overcome obstacles, prejudice, and discrimination.
Their voices come together in a collective story that highlights the strength, resilience, and transformative power of education as a foundation for full participation in social life.
π About the ACADE-ME Project
ACADE-ME β Accelerating Capabilities Against Discrimination in Education is a European project that aims to actively engage Roma communities, fostering positive change through training programmes, awareness-raising actions, and the creation of educational and informative resources.
The projectβs goal is to challenge deep-rooted prejudices and antigypsyism in the education sector, promoting the social inclusion of Roma students.
This phenomenon β recognised as a form of institutional and social racism by the European Parliament and the Council of Europe β still represents a major barrier to equality and full integration for Roma communities.
Aligned with the EU Strategic Framework for Equality, Inclusion and Participation of Roma 2020β2030, ACADE-ME places education at the core of its action to fight discrimination and promote equal opportunities.
The project addresses structural barriers that limit the participation of Roma youth β such as school segregation, low educational expectations, and limited learning resources β by implementing concrete interventions that create new opportunities for growth and inclusion.
Through the joint work of partner organisations from several European countries, ACADE-ME aims to strengthen skills, improve life prospects, and support the full integration of Roma communities across Europe.
